The Lamplighter
Our AAA three diamond rating is your guarantee of superb housekeeping and attention to detail. Built in 1892 for a local surgeon and his socialite wife, the home exudes Victorian charm and elegance while still offering all the comforts of today. Cable television, air conditioning and wireless internet reside happily alongside the original porcelain tile fireplaces, winding oak staircase, massive pocket doors and the innkeepers collection of antiques and artwork.
Breakfast is always a special event, and brings guests back again and again. Your palate will be delighted by signature Lamplighter dishes such as Caramelized Peach French Toast and Savory German Sausage Loaf. It is an elegant affair, served on antique china with sparkling crystal and silver, fresh flowers and candlelight. Your breakfast will be arranged at check-in for a mutually agreeable time and to accommodate any dietary needs that need to be taken into consideration.
With a total of five guest rooms and a maximum occupancy of 10 guests, the Lamplighter provides a warm and intimate feel. Ludington House
Our home was built by Antoine Cartier, a lumber baron. He had come to the Ludington area from Quebec in 1852 to seek his fortune and in 1878 built this magnificent home for his wife, Eliza and their nine children.
The house is a three story Victorian set on a beautiful landscaped corner lot with ample off-street parking. We are conveniently located a short walk from Lake Michigan, quaint shops, many fine restaurants and the Pere Marquette harbor. Our location is ideal for the many activities available on the wonderful west coast of Michigan.
Start your morning with a freshly prepared hot breakfast such as apple cinnamon French toast, quiche, or a stratus with fresh fruit and muffins. Our own Ludington House special blend of coffee, which is made in a French press, is exceptional. If you are a sleepyhead, a continental breakfast is available until 10:30.
We invite you to stay at the Ludington House and enjoy our herringbone patterned hardwood floors, gorgeous carved cherry and golden oak woodwork, 12-foot ceilings, fascinating brass light fixtures that once were gas, our walnut staircase to the third floor, Italian marble fireplace and beautiful stained glass windows. The Sunburst Inn
An intimate getaway awaits you at the Sunburst Inn. Our 100 year old home
has been carefully renovated and combines the elegance of 19th century with
the comfortable amenities of the 21st. Named for the three original
sunbursts that embrace upon it, you will be captivated for the moment you
step onto our inviting porch. The guest suite is located on the second
level, ensuring privacy.
Guests will rest comfortably in a splendorous 338 square foot suite. Our
suite features a Cal King size bed, and includes both sitting and dining
areas. Unwind and relax in your adjoining private roomy bath with a
whirlpool tub and double shower. A full breakfast is served to you in your suite, or either on the front porch or back patio. Color cable television,
mini refrigerator with complimentary beverages are also available within the
